Nao, an eighth-grade student, is one of only two members of her school's Digital Camera Club and serves as its manager. Despite being in charge of the club, she primarily photographs clouds and skies. One day, while taking pictures on a rooftop, Nao discovers a cat that can manipulate wind currents. She becomes startled by this strange creature and falls off the roof. Miki is her best friend and fellow club member. Mr. Taiki, their teacher, has taught the cat how to control wind flow. Ryoko, another student, has a crush on him. Jun helps Nao and Miki search for a flying cat, while Yukio, the widow of Mr. Taiki's deceased brother, is also involved in some way. In a nearby town, known as "Wind Handlers," a mysterious Wind Festival is about to take place. This small community has formed around the ability to manipulate wind currents and control the elements.
