The third Dragon Quest movie focuses on events that occur between episodes 35 and 36 of the TV series. Following their victory over Hadlar's warriors, Dai and his companions are enjoying a peaceful moment in the island village when they learn that Galbus has taken control as the new demon lord. Determined to put an end to this once and for all, Galbus launches a surprise attack on Dai and his friends, capturing Maams soul in the process. In order to rescue her, Dai and his companions must confront Galbus on his chosen battlefield. Will they be able to overcome this challenge and save Maam?
