Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji are three individuals who meet during a school trip in Tokyo Tower. Suddenly, they're transported to an unknown land after hearing a mysterious woman's plea for help. Upon their arrival, they encounter Master Mage Clef, who informs them that they were summoned by Princess Emeraude to become Magic Knights and restore peace and balance to Cephiro. The kingdom has been in turmoil since High Priest Zagato imprisoned the princess, who served as its pillar of stability. Despite their initial reluctance, the girls decide to embark on a journey to save Cephiro from evil.
