This animated series is a collection of outstanding episodes that have been adapted from renowned works of Japanese modern literature. The goal of this show is to captivate the audience and provide them with an insight into the diversity and uniqueness of Japanese literature over the past century. The authors featured in this series include Higuchi Ichiyou (Takekurabe), Mori Ougai (The Dancing Girl) and Natsume Souseki (Botchan), as well as Kawabata Yasunari (The Izu Dancer), a Nobel laureate of 1968, and Mishima Yukio (The Sound of Waves).
