The 73rd class of cadets at Kibi's Defense University are set to embark on a shakedown cruise aboard the new starship Amaterasu before their graduation. However, upon returning home, they learn about a declaration of war by an aggressive kingdom against their planet. Despite their government surrendering without resistance, the cadets decide to take matters into their own hands and launch a war from the "Amaterasu". In order to secure funding for their mission, they strike a deal with a galactic news network, which makes them the main attraction of their very own reality show. Unfortunately, this type of reality show can be extremely dangerous.
