The 73rd class of cadets from Kibi's Defense University are set to embark on a shakedown cruise aboard the new starship Amaterasu before their graduation. However, upon returning home, they learn about the declaration of war by an aggressive Kingdom against their planet. When their government surrenders without resistance, the cadets decide to take matters into their own hands and launch a war from the "Amaterasu." To secure funding for their mission, they make a deal with a galactic news network, which results in them becoming the central figures of their own reality show. Unfortunately, this type of reality show can be deadly.
