In the realm of Loveless, individuals possess cat ears and a tail from birth. These features vanish when an individual engages in sexual intercourse, symbolizing virginity and purity. Combat is carried out by "fighting pairs," where one participant is designated as the Sacrifice and the other as the Fighter. The former endures harm while the latter executes attacks.
Ritsuka Aoyagi is a 12-year-old boy afflicted with amnesia. Tragically, his brother was recently killed. To make matters worse, on his first day at a new school, he encounters an unfamiliar individual named Agatsuma Soubi, who claims to have known Ritsuka's late sibling. As it turns out, Agatsuma and his brother were once a fighting pair, with the former now inheriting Ritsuga's role following the latter's demise. Together, they strive to uncover the truth behind their brother's death and the enigmatic "Seven Moons" organization, which may be linked to it. In doing so, it appears that Ritsuka and Agatsuma are inadvertently developing deeper feelings for one another than intended.
The Loveless anime covers the first four volumes of the manga.
