Morimura Aiko is a young girl who is shorter than average for her age. Her father disappeared ten years ago without any information about his whereabouts. Her mother, a hat designer, left for Paris, leaving Aiko in the care of her uncle, Mr Fujinami. Aiko previously had a dog named Papi, but it passed away in a car accident around the same time. Then, another dog, Spank, appeared before her. Despite all the misfortunes she has experienced, Spanks presence helps to lift Aikos mood and bring joy to her life.
