In 1755, a young woman named Marie Antoinette was born into the royal family of Austria and raised in luxury. However, her fate as the future queen of France was already determined at the age of 15 when she had to marry the crown prince of France. Meanwhile, in France, another girl named Oscar was born into the family of the Commander of the Royal Guards. Due to a lack of male heirs, her father decided to raise her as a man and name her after his favorite horse. From an early age, Oscar was trained to become the leader of the Royal Guards, but she would later learn that the will of the queen did not always align with the good of the people.
The manga "Rose of Versailles" tells the story of Marie Antoinette and Oscar's fateful meeting, which would ultimately shape history and influence the lives of those facing the French Revolution as the clock ticked down to the end of the French royalty.
