In the recently launched massively multiplayer online role-playing game "The World," Mai Minase and Tomonari Kasumi experienced a sudden collapse in reality after hearing an enigmatic sound. Only Mai managed to regain consciousness while her friend remained comatose. Later, Mai encountered Tokuoka Junichiro, the creator of "The World," who disclosed that six other players nationwide had also succumbed to mysterious comas while playing the game. The question arises: what is "The World," what is this peculiar sound that Mai keeps hearing, and why are individuals falling into comas as a result of this game? In response to these concerns, Mai, Junichiro, and their companions embark on a quest to unravel the mystery before any additional harm occurs.
