Harada Kusuko is a high school student who secretly likes classmate Mishima Takeshi, despite his reputation as the playboy. After ending things with his most recent girlfriend, Mishima asks Kusuko to be his date for the class trip to Kyoto. Although thrilled at first, Kusuko later discovers that Mishima is actually hung up on Shouko, a middle school teacher whose marriage is falling apart. Despite their age difference and the inappropriateness of their relationship, Mishima continues seeing Shouko. His friend Kotaro disapproves of this connection, leading to emotional tensions between them. As things escalate, Mishima gets into fights with other boys and eventually gets expelled from school. Feeling guilty for his actions, he breaks up with Kusuko and disappears from her life. Can true love overcome these obstacles?
