While many schools in Japan are competing for the title of having the best soccer team in the country, Raimon Middle Schools' Inazuma Eleven soccer club is struggling to regain its footing after being on the brink of disbandment. Mamoru Endou, the grandson of Inazuma Elevens first generation goalkeeper and captain, takes up the challenge of revitalizing the team. However, he knows that it won't be easy and will require a lot of help and some luck to succeed.
Mamoru finds hope in Shuuya Gouenji, a talented young player who has given up on soccer. Mamoru is determined to convince Shuuya and other new recruits to join his team, no matter what the cost. With his passion and determination, can he turn around the struggling club? Or is there no hope left for Inazuma Eleven?
Inazuma Eleven first started out as a sports role-playing game for the Nintendo DS. The series has had numerous sequels since then. The manga was first published in the Shogakukan CoroCoro Comic and the anime series was produced by game developer Level-5 along with TV Tokyo and OLM. The anime aired in numerous countries around Asia and Europe. Aside from the anime, manga and video games, there is also an animated film and guidebooks for the series.
