Haneda Takashi harbors a secret that prevents him from escaping his mundane school life. Despite this, he remains tethered to certain individuals on his heart, including his younger sister Kobato and girlfriend Watarai Asuka. Meanwhile, Chitose Shuusuke leads a carefree existence as a freeloader, working at various part-time jobs. His first encounter with Tamaizumi Hiyoko ends disastrously, but he later discovers that they share the same workplace. Narita Hayato views himself as a "hard-boiled" individual who takes on backbreaking jobs without hesitation. He shuns normal human interaction but gathers with delinquents and other night dwellers during the nights. His chance encounter with Otori Naru, a cheerful and oblivious person, leaves him questioning their relationship.
