Since childhood, people have viewed Haruka Kotoura as strange and frightening because she possesses the ability to read minds. This talent drove away her parents, leaving her with only her grandfather for company. As a result of this isolation, Haruka has become cold and antisocial towards others. However, when Haruka transfers to a new school, although most people are initially put off by her, she encounters Yoshihisa Manabe who finds her power fascinating. Yoshihisa befriends Haruka and promises never to abandon her no matter what happens. Through these new experiences at the school, Haruka learns to open up and make friends, gradually becoming more sociable.
