Boku wa Ou-sama
ぼくは王さま, Boku wa Ousama
The anime series "Boku Wa Ou-sama" is based on a book series by Teruo Teramura and Shizuko Wakayama. This popular children's book was first published in 1959 and was followed by 49 more volumes, making it one of the most successful children's books in Japan. The anime and the books follow the adventures of Ou-sama, a silly, gluttonous, lazy but overall very lovable and cute king who enjoys eating elephant eggs (which make the biggest omelets) and playing pranks on his three wise counselors or riding bikes around the castle.
