In ancient times, there was a brief overlap between human and youkai territories, which led many residents from both sides to migrate to each other's domains. Since then, Sakurashin has emerged as a focal point for inter-dimensional affairs due to the presence of the Seven Pillars surrounding the city, acting as a beacon for youkai, and the diligent efforts of the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office in maintaining community satisfaction. This office comprises Hime Yarizakura, the youthful mayor of Sakurashin; satori Ao Nanami, who possesses the ability to read minds; half-youkai Kotoha Isone, capable of summoning objects with a mere utterance; oni siblings Kyousuke and Touka Kishi; and Akina Hiizumi, inheritor of his family's power to force youkai back into their realm. Besides offering volunteer services and mediation, the Life Counseling Office also works to suppress Strikes - rare events where humans are suddenly imbued with youkai powers and become violent. However, recent developments pose a threat as an ominous figure emerges, causing Strikes to increase in frequency. Political adversaries make their moves, and malevolent entities descend upon the city. As defenders of Sakurashin, it is now up to the Life Counseling Office to safeguard the tranquil environment they cherish.

Episode 1 was previewed at a screening in Tokyo on September 28, 2013. Regular broadcasting began on October 6, 2013.
