Kotoha is a sixteen-year-old high school student who was once human before being possessed by a youkai at a young age. This event made her a Hanyou, half youkai and half human. She has the ability to summon things with language (Kotodama tsukai) and can conjure up weapons or objects with just one word. However, for certain objects, she needs longer spells. Kotoha is also known as a gun enthusiast and visited the Koblenz Museum of Military Technology in Germany because of its tanks and weapons on display. She has a great singing voice and is only interested in girls, which is evident in chapter ten when all characters except Gin attend her party. Despite wearing glasses for decoration, Kotoha can get quite aggressive during fights, as seen when Hime made her become her training partner and accidentally destroyed her plane ticket to Germany. In response, Kotoha summoned an Acht, a German army's FLAK 36.88 mm cannon, and fired at Hime. However, her friends stopped her from using the Acht, and she realized the damage she caused and apologized. Overusing her power can also lead to losing her voice for a while.
