The Valiant Kingdom, under the orders of its king, launched a campaign to eliminate those who practiced witchcraft seventeen years ago. Despite this pursuit growing in size and intensity over time, it remains unknown to the citizens that the true targets are the secret protectors of humanity known as the Makai Knights and Alchemists. These individuals possess great power but struggle with hatred stemming from their mothers' death at the hands of the kingdom.
One such Makai Knight is Leon Luis, who inherits the legendary armor of the Golden Knight Garo from his mother. Though he has immense strength, he grapples with overcoming the animosity towards the kingdom that led to his mother's demise. His father, German (Zoro the Shadow Cutting Knight), continues training him despite his wavering willpower.
As they journey to the capital, Alfonso San Valiante, the king's amiable son, faces challenges in finding a solution to the escalating Horror threat. However, before he can act, he is betrayed and exiled from his own kingdom. To regain his throne, Alfonso embarks on a quest for assistance and strength. During this journey, he encounters Leon, whose interactions with the prince will forever alter their destinies.
Garo: Honoo no Kokuin is inspired by Garo Tokusatsu and is one of the few Tokusatsu franchises adapted into an animated work.
