In 2046, Detective Ross Sylibus is assigned to Mars where he encounters a tragic situation during his flight. A country singer who was aboard was murdered, and what makes things even more complicated is that she was a "Third" - a robot designed to resemble humans. Sylibus partners with Armitage, a female cop known for her negative attitude as they investigate the murder of the singer and other women on Mars. As their investigation progresses, they discover a dangerous conspiracy involving the Martian government that could lead to both of their deaths.
