Katsuhira Agata is a reserved teenage boy who has lost his ability to feel pain. His friend Chidori Takashiro barely remembers life before this change, and Katsuhira's complacent demeanor makes him an easy target for bullies. Although they can only hurt him physically, emotions remain beyond his grasp.
One day, Katsuhira, Chidori, and four other teenagers are kidnapped and forced to join the Kizuna System as official "Kiznaivers." These individuals share a connection through pain: if one member is injured, the others will feel an equal amount of agony. As lab rats and scapegoats for an incomplete system designed with world peace in mind, they must reveal their true selves to each other or risk failing the Kizuna System.
