Iori Kitahara moves to the coastal town of Izu for his freshman year at its university and settles above Grand Blue, an uncles scuba diving shop. Although Iori has high hopes for a fulfilling college experience, he is drawn into the alcohol-fueled parties of carefree Diving Club members who frequent the store. Upperclassmen Shinji Tokita and Ryuujirou Kotobuki convince him to join their strange gathering. Later, his cousin Chisa Kotegawa walks in and scolds Iori for being caught up in their antics, earning him her disdain. This is all based on the popular comedy manga Grand Blue by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioke. Through his journey with his eccentric new friends, Iori strives to achieve his ideal college dream while also learning how to scuba dive.
