When Kotoko Iwanaga was just 11 years old, she was kidnapped by youkai and asked to become their "God of Wisdom," a mediator between the spirit and human worlds. Despite losing her right eye and left leg in exchange for this position, Kotoko agreed. Now, six years later, whenever youkai need help solving problems, they come to Kotoko for consultation. On the other hand, Kurou Sakuragawa is a 22-year-old university student who has recently broken up with his girlfriend after encountering a kappa while alone. Seeing this as an opportunity to get closer to him, Kotoko immediately tries to win his affection and hopes to marry him one day. However, she soon discovers that there is more to Kurou than meets the eye. With this newfound knowledge, Kotoko seeks Kurou's help in solving supernatural issues while hoping he will eventually return her feelings.
