In the distant future, Gadoll emerged as a threat to humanity, prompting the remaining humans on Earth to take refuge in Deca-Dence's lower district, Tank. While the warriors known as Gears resided on the upper floors and engaged in combat against Gadoll, most Tankers contented themselves with supporting operations from behind the lines, including butchering Gadoll meat and reinforcing defenses. Among these Tankers was Natsume, who despite her prosthetic right arm, yearned to join the small group of warriors who battled Gadoll on the frontlines. However, despite her peers at an orphanage receiving their assignments, Natsume's enlistment into the Power remained unapproved. Meanwhile, she began working as a cleaner in Kaburagi's armor repair team, a hardened and apathetic individual who seemed to harbor more than he let on. Initially dismissive of her idealistic nature, Kaburagi soon recognized Natsume's potential to disrupt the status quo and took her under his wing as his mentee. As she prepared for her unique role in challenging the system, Kaburagi guided Natsume through her journey towards becoming a game-changing bug in the world.
