In light of the upcoming Wave and limited time, Naofumi Iwatani and his companions must act quickly. When bats attack Lurolona Village and the countdown for the Wave ends, the Four Cardinal Heroes meet with Queen Mirelia Q Melromarc for a briefing. During this meeting, the queen speculates that the recent strange events may be linked to the revival of the Spirit Tortoise-a dangerous creature that once again threatens peace. As a result, a plan is created to put an end to the Spirit Tortoise's reign of terror. However, only one of the four heroes is willing to assist in this endeavor-the cursed Shield Hero.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari Season 2 was set to premiere in October 2021, but was postponed due to various reasons.The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in three volumes from July 27, 2022 to September 28, 2022.
