The concept of power through wealth is not unique to any one culture or society. It's a common belief that having financial resources can provide individuals with greater influence, opportunities, and security. However, this notion becomes particularly evident in countries where the economy is struggling, as people may feel like they are constantly fighting just to survive.
Kimimaro Yoga, an economics student at a university, understands this concept all too well. He sees his peers living relatively luxurious lives while he struggles to make ends meet. But when Masakaki, a stranger in a top hat, arrives at his door one late night, offering him the chance to enter a world where money flows abundantly if he offers his "future" as collateral, Yoga is hesitant but ultimately accepts the offer.
As an Entree in this new realm, Yoga quickly realizes that he has entered an alternate universe built in the likeness of his own. In this world, Entrees are forced to participate in weekly duels called "Deals," with their collateral at stake. Pitted against his countrymen and fate, Yoga must adapt quickly if he hopes to protect his fortune and future.
Throughout this journey, Yoga discovers just how much money is truly worth. He learns that while having financial resources can provide individuals with greater opportunities and security, it's ultimately up to the individual to decide what they value most in life.
