After finishing high school, Takumi receives an invitation from Ryosuke Takahashi, the leader of RedSuns, to join him in creating a professional racing team. Before making a decision on this offer, Takumi feels compelled to seek revenge against Kyouichi Sudou, who had defeated him during a previous race due to a faulty engine. Additionally, he must also face off against Kai Kogashiwa, the second-generation street racer whose father was once a bitter rival of Takumis own father Bunta.
