In 2059, Earth has been invaded by aliens for several years. Dr. Noguchi and his assistants Maki Agata and Takuto Kaneshiro attempt to revive the professor's experiment, a large Bio-Mechanical alien named Frank. During this process, Frank comes back to life, but the lab is destroyed and Takuto is the only survivor. The alien disappears into the wilderness. While roaming, Frank meets Hattie, an emotionally distressed young girl whose parents are killed in a war. Despite not being able to communicate with humans, Frank is able to understand her emotions and they form a bond. They are then taken into custody by Funeral, a secret agency. Meanwhile, Takuto wakes up in the hospital with his life ruined and a disfigured face. Driven by revenge and grief, he accepts an offer from Mr. X and becomes Ryu Soma, a ranking officer of Funeral.
