In the Digital World, Meiko Mochizuki is horrified when her Digimon partner Meicoomon evolves into Meicrackmon under evil influence. This causes Meicrackmon to disappear and wreak havoc elsewhere, leading the Digital World to reject the presence of Meiko and other Chosen Children. As they try to find their way back home, the group faces various enemies. Meanwhile, in the human world, a messenger from Homeostasis visits both Meiko's father and Daigo Nishijima to discuss Meicoomon's origins. Homeostasis plans to eliminate Meicrackmon in order to prevent more Digimon from appearing in the human realm, regardless of the Chosen Children's feelings about it.
