According to U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplaces Box," despite the recognition of Newtypes and their rights in the Universal Century Charter, there has been little change in the world's structure. The conflict known as the "Laplace Incident" is believed to have ended with the destruction of the Neo Zeon remnants called Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human comprehension. These were the white unicorn and black lion, which were sealed away to prevent their influence from affecting people's consciousness. However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years prior, is set to reappear in Earth Sphere once again. It has been renamed Phenex, a golden phoenix.
