Although Hanae Ashiya has been burdened by debt from Haruitsuki Abeno, he enjoys his job as an exorcist because it gives him a sense of responsibility towards magical creatures. Despite the recent stability in his life, youkai threaten to disrupt it once again as news about his existence spreads and not everyone is happy with a human working for the Mononokean, an interdimensional tea room. However, during a visit to the Underworld, Ashiya draws attention from those in power, leading him to learn that not all youkai agree with Abeno's plans.
