Juan Rico's friend and secret love is adored by men but treats them more like friends. She has only one emotional attachment, which is to Johnny. After he leaves for the army, they meet again on a spaceship they are both traveling on. Their feelings towards each other become clear at the end of the series. In Starship Troopers Invasion, Captain Ibanez is removed from command of the John A. Warden by Carl Jenkins but later joins a team to try and regain it.
