Miaka Yuuki  

Priestess of Suzaku, Suzaku no Miko, 夕城 美朱

In Fushigi Yûgi, Miaka Yuuki is a fifteen-year-old junior high school student who becomes the Priestess of Suzaku in order to use one of the wishes she will receive when she summons him. Her primary motivation for this decision is to enter her desired high school and be with her friend Yui. Miaka is outgoing, optimistic, and amiable, showing a friendly disposition towards both friends and strangers alike. She tends to be guileless and sentimental, often surprising adults with insightful comments. Despite being naïve at times, she possesses an inner strength that allows her to perceive herself as considerate and caring for others. Miaka can come across as unassuming and unsophisticated, but also displays magnanimity and courage when the situation calls for it. Her need for help often lands her with someone looking after her, making her feel fortunate and well-cared for.
