The protagonist of the show is a young girl named Satsuki. Along with her father and younger brother Keichirou, they relocate to their mother's hometown after she passes away. There, they discover that she had previously encountered malevolent spirits such as Amanojaku, which she documented in her diary titled "The Ghost Journal." Despite being strong-willed and courageous, Satsuki can sometimes be moody due to Hajime's attempts to catch a glimpse of her underwear. In the Spanish dub, she is known as Claire, while her nickname in the Animax dub is Suki (derived from Satsuki).
