In the Galaxian Wars tournament, the Silver Saint named Algol was sent to destroy the Colosseum and kidnap Saori Kido. After Crow Jamian's death at the hands of Phoenix Ikki, Algol, Capella, and Dante revealed themselves. The Phoenix Saint warned the other Bronze Saints about Algol's differences from his friends. Using the Shield of Medusa, which could turn opponents to stone when opened its eyes, Algol turned Andromeda Shun into stone. He then battled Dragon Shiryū but was outsmarted when the Dragon Saint blinded his eyes with his own fingers in order to stop Algol and save the other Bronze Saints' lives. Despite a long battle, Algol ultimately lost to Shiryū, who heightened his Cosmo to "see" beyond his blindness for the final attack.
