Miyagi is a 35-year-old professor of literature at M University. He has an assistant named Hiroki and despite his playful demeanor, they are good friends. Miyagi was once married to the daughter of the university's dean but divorced due to his indifference towards emotions and feelings and his passion for work. Despite this, he still holds onto memories of his late homeroom teacher whom he was deeply in love with but never received reciprocation. This bitterness has made him cynical about love. Miyagi is not gay and denies it, though he must confront the fact that Shinobu, his ex-wife's younger brother, seeks to pursue his love despite their differences in age. Even if forced upon him, Miyagi cannot deny how much this affects him emotionally.
