Neko-gami-sama is an anthropomorphic cat character that frequently resides within vending machines to heat up drinks to a comfortable temperature. He often employs enigmatic abilities to play mischievous pranks on Mesousa, such as unexpectedly dropping him into a seemingly bottomless pit. Neko-gami-sama concludes most of his statements with the phrase "-desu nya," which is Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound made by cats. In each episode, he exhibits different fur colors, culminating in a scene where he rapidly changes hues throughout the final episode. When unable to monitor vending machines, Neko-gami-sama enlists others to substitute for him until his return. Mesousa performed this task once in an anime adaptation. Neko-gami-sama shares a striking resemblance to Chiyos "Father" from Azumanga Daioh and could potentially be parodied as such. His elder brother, who looks nearly identical but wears yellow glasses, appears in the 25th episode when he was truly a deity within Ichijous box.
