Tommy is a person who resides on an abandoned ship in search of his lost Marshtomp, which he accidentally dropped its Poké Ball there many years ago. As a result, it evolved into a Swampert that attacked any intruders on the ship. However, when Swampert recognized that Tommy was its true owner, it reconnected with him and they became a team once more. Tommy assisted Ash and his companions in reaching Slateport City using his boat.
