Kotarou, who leads the literary club at school, enjoys reading books and has started considering becoming a writer. his parents were both born, raised, and work in the same place, with his father being an employee and his mother staying home to take care of their house. from a young age, kotarou was involved in music and dance through the local shinto shrine's orchestra. he grew up surrounded by cultural richness and learned how to play the flute, taiko drums, and perform dances. as an only child living in his grandparents' home, he appears carefree but is not proactive in his studies, resulting in him being in the bottom half of his class with little distinction from his peers.
