As the new school year begins and students meet their new classmates, including aspiring writer Kotarou Azumi and track team member Akane Mizuno, both of whom are in their final year of junior high. Despite being strangers at first, a series of chance encounters spark an innocent desire within their hearts. As fate brings them closer together, they begin to experience the hallmarks of young love, including gazing longingly and feeling fluttery emotions. However, pursuing these feelings is not always straightforward. Although love is patient and kind, Kotarou and Akane face heartache and anxiety as they navigate the uncertainty of how the other feels and the competing affections of those around them. Despite these challenges, under the light of a full moon, Kotarou musters up the courage to ask Akane a question that will forever change their relationship.
