Okuyasu isn't the brightest character in JoJo lore and often relied on his brother Keicho for tough decisions. After his brother passed away, he sought revenge against Akira Otoishi, the User of Red Hot Chili Pepper. During this time and following events involving Yoshikage Kira, Okuyasu formed close friendships with Josuke and Koichi. Despite being jealous of Koichi's relationship with Yukako, he enjoyed Tonio's cooking. He also befriended Shigekiyo after their battle together with Josuke. This friendship was a source of further anger when Shigekiyo was killed by Yoshikage Kira. Okuyasu's father is a mutated creature due to Dios spores, which occurred when he was only 7 years old. He has a dislike for Rohan because of the attempt on his life during their initial meeting.
