In the Luna carnival, Alberts companion was someone who shared many adventures with him. Although they are both friends, it seems like this person is more mature than Albert. They often provide caution to Albert about certain characters in the anime, such as Count. Despite their own safety being at risk, they have shown a deep commitment to protecting Albert on multiple occasions. It's generally understood that Franz and Alberts relationship goes beyond friendship within the series.
