Mai is a high school student who temporarily works as an assistant at SPR after injuring Lin, the regular assistant of Narus, and breaking a camera used in an investigation at her school. Despite the accident being covered by insurance, Mai's employment was due to an unknown reason. After completing her first case, she was offered a part-time position with SPR as both an office and on-case assistant. She refers to Shibuya as Naru because of his narcissistic personality traits.
