Horio is a tennis player with two years of experience who frequently boasts about his knowledge of the sport. Despite his confidence, he has struggled in certain situations and relied on Echizen Ryoma's help. Both Echizen and Horio are classmates, and Horios closest friends are Katou Kachirou and Mizuno Katsou. Although they are not frequent attendees at Seigaku, they enthusiastically support the team.
