Will is a young man who resides near Gianas and dislikes her second name due to his alcoholic father's influence. Despite this, he tends to Renton back to health while returning to the Gekko. He is talkative but insightful and empathetic, preferring to work with nature rather than control it. His garden thrives despite his dismantling of several huge pile bunkers that suppress tectonic movements. Will lives with his wife, Martha, who suffers from Desperation Disease. Although he speaks to her, she does not respond audibly, and Will does not view her condition as a source of despair. He believes humans must live in harmony with the energy nature provides them.
