In Bellforest, there is a 14-year-old boy named Renton Thurston who dreams of leaving his home and joining Gekkostate, a mercenary group seeking adventure. However, he faces pressure from both his grandfathers' expectations to become a mechanic like him and the legacy of his deceased father. The only excitement in his life comes from riding Trapar wave particles, similar to surfing. His world changes when an unknown object crashes into his garage, revealing a Light Finding Operation - the Nirvash typeZERO robot. Eureka, a Gekkostate member and its pilot, requests a tune-up for the Nirvash. This encounter marks Renton's involvement with Gekkostate as he joins Eureka as co-pilot of the Nirvash.

The anime has won multiple awards including "Best Screenplay," "Best Television Series," and "Best Character Designs" at the 5th Tokyo Anime Awards, an award in the "Domestic Digital Contents Category" at the 20th Digital Content Grand Prix, and the "Best Female Character" and "Best Television Series" during the 2006 Anime Expo SPJA Awards in the US.
