Robert is a Pokémon Coordinator who has appeared in several episodes. He first made an appearance in "Win, Lose or Drew," where he competed in the Slateport City Contest and defeated Drew with his Milotic, winning that city's ribbon. In the Hoenn Grand Festival, Robert was seen during the Appeals round using his Milotic. Later, in "Rhapsody in Drew," he nearly became a victim of Team Rocket when they tried to steal his Contest Pass and Pokémon. Ash attempted to stop them with Snorunt, but it couldn't use its Ice Beam effectively. Robert advised Snorunt to concentrate more, which helped it evolve into Glalie. After winning the Grand Festival and earning the Ribbon Cup, Robert immediately began training for the next one. According to Drew, he did this right away.
