Despite being reserved, Hitagi's father is caring and his love for her as his daughter drives him to work even when she isn't around. Although he trusts Koyomi to keep Hitagi safe, he can't spend much time with her due to his job. The Senjougahara family experienced a significant change after Hitagi was diagnosed with a severe medical condition. Despite surviving the ordeal, Hitagi's mother joined a cult in desperation for her safety. Unfortunately, this also distracted her from the rest of the family. Years later, when Hitagi became weightless due to an oddity, five con artists who promised to cure her left the family broke. Since then, Hitagi's mother has left the family, leaving behind her husband in debt while he strives to earn a living for Hitagi's sake.
