Arata, who hails from Amawakuni, is an extroverted individual brimming with vitality but tends to get easily bored. At his birth, his grandmother, Makari, stated that he was a girl, yet he was raised as a boy. As part of the Hime clan, which serves to maintain equilibrium in the realm, Arata belongs to the group responsible for producing princesses. Given that there are no other females eligible to succeed the present princess, Arata assumes the role of a female to become her successor. During the coronation ceremony, he witnesses the murder of the princess and is subsequently accused of the crime. He flees into Kando forest, where he exchanges his identity with Arata Hinohara from contemporary Japan.
