Despite being an older man, he was once known as the world's strongest Nen user 50 years ago. However, he acknowledges that his subordinates might be stronger than him now. It is also revealed that he is older than Zeno Zaoldyeck's grandfather, who is currently 67 years old. At one point, it was mentioned that when Zeno was still a child, Netero had already lived for many years and was the only person alive to have fought with Maha's (Zenos) grandfather. This puts him in his late hundreds or even early thousands of years old. His ability is known as Hyakushiki Kannon, which allows him to make attacks seem like they came from another side or dimension by moving them faster than the speed of sound.
