Kamille grew up on the Green Noah space colony, which is now known as Side 7. There, he encountered several Titan soldiers who mistreated fellow citizens. In a confrontation with Jerid Messa, an officer of the Titans, Kamille was detained by them at their base. During an Anti-Earth Union Group raid to steal prototype Gundam Mk-II mobile suits, designed by his parents and other researchers for the Titans, Kamille escaped and helped AEUG steal all the units. This led him to vow revenge against the Federation and the Titans after witnessing the deaths of his mother and father at their hands. Kamille is known for being impulsive, arrogant, and prone to making decisions on his own without considering consequences. These actions often resulted in abuse, both mental and physical. However, under the guidance of AEUG officer Quattro Bajeena, former Titans officer Emma Sheen, and later Amuro Ray, Kamille became one of AEUG's top pilots while maintaining his civilian status, first with his stolen Gundam Mk II and later with his personally designed MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam.
During the course of the series, Kamille witnessed the deaths of his parent, lovers, friends and acquaintances. As such, though a generally nice person, he tends to act on his emotions and personal judgement rather than logic. This has placed him in deep rivalries with men like Jerid Messa and Paptimus Scirocco.
